Oddblox provides dedicated IPs at an additional cost. You may wonder, if it is costing you extra, why would you want to buy it? This article goes over everything from Shared vs Dedicated to setting up a domain for your server. Lets get started!
Shared IPs
By default, your Minecraft server will share an IP with almost every other Minecraft server on your node. You are assigned a random port (For example, port 25110). This means players will need to put the IP and port in to play your server, or you will need to set up a domain for your server. Free domains are available to all customers, and you can learn how to get one by following this article.
Dedicated IPs
These are available to customers at $5, and it allows you to set your server’s port to the default Minecraft port. This means players only have to type in your IP, and not the port. This does not block you from getting a free domain though! Those are still available to all customers, and you can learn how to get one by following this article.
